Community Arts Council of CrestonOur role as an arts council is to be an umbrella organization for arts and culture. We support groups, individuals and organizations engaged in arts related activities. “Arts” means all the arts; visual, performing, literary, media, culture and heritage. We provide financial assistance, networking opportunities and are proactive for the growth and sustainability of our arts industry and culture. As a volunteer board, we carry out the wishes of the members and as such we value the feedback, ideas and participation of anyone in the community who is engaged in or supportive of the arts. We represent the area from Yahk to Riondel and appreciate the support we receive from the Regional District as well as the Town of Creston. Other funding opportunities come from the Province of BC, the Assembly of BC Arts Councils and Columbia Basin Trust. We are proud of the groups and organizations in the area who carry out such a diverse range of activities for the professional as well as the hobbyist. Our excitement is in seeing the roll that arts and culture play in our communities, the partnerships that are developing; and anticipating how we can all play a roll in supporting and encouraging sustainable ventures. New members are always welcome. Click here for membership info. Monthly Meetings: The Community Arts Council of Creston meets on the second Wednesday of the month from September through June. The Annual General Meeting is held in September. Meetings are held at The Snoring Sasquatch Hostel, 221 11th Ave N. Creston, B.C. and start at 7pm.
